Anil Dhanak - True Visionary

Anil Dhanak, the Founder and Managing Director of Kanz Jewels, often remembers his roots in the industry which started with his family’s gold jewellery company. Here he had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the jewellery business from the youngest age. He proved to be a fast learner and naturally talented in the field, and quickly he was entrusted with managing the entire business.

Being a born pioneer, Anil Dhanak had a dream and the vision to start his own company from scratch, and so in 1991, he founded Kanz jewels. At the time he only had a 5-person team by his side and a spot in the traditional Dubai Gold Souk. Guided by his courage and determination, Anil Dhanak grew the business rapidly and today the company is an undefeated leader in the field with nine outlets and a special manufacturing workshop. From humble beginnings to rising up to the role of an industry giant, Anil never lost sight of his vision and to this day ensures each individual piece of jewellery is hand-picked and personalised to individual taste. 

There are many things that set Kanz Jewels apart, and with Anil Dhanak’s vast experience he was able to identify exactly what it is that the customers are looking for and need. He is not only offering the best possible product but also a unique and enjoyable experience. The Kanz showrooms are designed and decorated to impress the visitor, which is why it’s not surprising that even big filmmakers shot their movie scenes at the locations, and that Hollywood and Bollywood stars alike are keen on stopping by whenever in Dubai. The customer service is impeccable - warm, friendly and going above and beyond to assist the customer. They were all trained directly by Arjun Dhanak, Anil Dhanak’s son who has learned the business directly from the master himself.

Anil Dhanak is a man who always thinks ahead and operates globally. He believes his jewellery should represent women from all over the world, and so he sources his pieces from different countries. A lover of art, his collections made by some of the world’s finest jewellery designers, are artworks in themselves and often draw strong inspiration from different cultures. Some of the countries Kanz gold jewellery is imported from include Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and more. 

When asked why he named his company “Kanz”, Anil explains that the word comes from Arabic, meaning “The Treasure”. Not only is it a suitable name for the gorgeous product, but it is also very fitting for the company so treasured by its clientele. No wonder then that their tagline is “Treasure of Timeless Beauty” - a perfect description of this iconic brand.
